A world-leading manufacturer going through a sustained period of growth looking for a Production Support Engineer to join the team.

The Role

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Production Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring optimal OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), through effective preventative maintenance and corrective actions to reduce equipment downtime, in line with the expectations of Operations.

Additionally, providing engineering support to Operations and ensuring continuous improvement.

Assist Operations as required to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production output, supporting the achievement of departmental objectives.

Provide a weekly review with the Production team to understand and provide solutions to the latest issues, whilst improving assembly capacity and product knowledge.

Create test rigs and software for product verification.

Support continuous improvement and strive to develop and improve existing facilities, equipment and processes in a cost-effective manner.

Ensure improvements are introduced following Production problems to prevent reoccurrence.

Participate in ongoing facilities, equipment, and process enhancements to improve manufacturability and performance improvements.

Provide engineering technical input to resolve Production issues.

Cover for Production Technicians and Operatives as required, e.g. to build product.

Arrange all external calibration of tools and equipment which are to be used by Production.

Support adherence to ISO9001 and ISO17025 standard requirements.

Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules for the required equipment are set and followed.

Ensure that test systems maintenance procedures are followed in line with work instructions and logbooks and records are up to date.

Ensure improvements are introduced following Production problems to prevent reoccurrence.

Keep Operations informed of any equipment issues that might affect past and current product deliveries, and escalate to the Process Engineering Manager as required.

Responsible for Production improvements, product improvement/design/replacement.

Responsible for offline repairs of products.

Electronics investigation and correction of nonconforming products (primarily PCBs) involving third-party suppliers where appropriate.

Management of quarantined products: either resolving the component issue and returning to stores, correcting internally/with suppliers, or scrapping in line with departmental targets.

The Candidate

Experience working within an electronic/electromechanical manufacturing/production environment

Detailed knowledge of repair and fault-finding

Experience implementing change within production processes

Able to read engineering drawings

Worked on ERP systems

Knowledge of Health and Safety

The Package

The salary offered for this position is £30,000- £35,000 plus a bonus to a candidate that can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
