Job Description

LANXESS UK is now recruiting a Production Technician (Day Team) to work in our chemical manufacturing plant in Trafford Park Manchester!

The primary focus of this role is to complete tanker transfer operations and internal transfers to storage tanks. You will be responsible for ensuring tasks are completed safely and in a timely manner. You will use a fork lift truck to transfer materials form line side to warehouse & vice versa and ensure the site and workplace is kept clean, tidy and safe.

About you!

We would love to hear from you if you have;

City and Guilds PPO or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent levels/GCSEs in Maths, English and Chemistry/Science or equivalent vocation qualification or accredited multi-skilled apprenticeship or a nationally accredited trade apprenticeship

Comfortable working in areas restricted access/confined spaces

Experience of chemical plant process operation

An awareness of safety legislation/procedures and quality systems (ISO 9001-2000)

Use of computer systems (SAP, MS office and DCS) and numeracy / literacy skills (written and verbal communication skills)

HSE awareness, compliance with safe systems of work, knowledge of standards

Problem solving skills and attention to detail

Team working ability

Able to contribute to improvement projects

Fork lift truck operation experience and valid licence

BOAS Boiler qualification (desirable)
