The Role:


As Profit Protection Advisor you will report to the Risk & Compliance Director and play a vital role in safeguarding the stock, cash, assets and profitability of the Prezzo business. Your responsibilities include identifying and investigating theft, breaches of company policy, and misconduct incidents, collaborating with external agencies, and proactively identifying enhancements which may be required.


Your ability to work independently, engage effectively with the operations team and wider business and stay updated on industry trends will be crucial in minimising loss and ensuring a secure environment.


What You’ll Do:


  • As Profit Protection Advisor you will establish, maintain and update appropriate reporting to identify issues of risk & loss.
  • You will have involvement in the set-up process for all new discounts and offers to ensure robust processes are in place to minimise the risk of abuse and theft.

  • Investigate and resolve loss occurrences relating to stock, cash and assets across the business to limit the negative impact on company profitability.
  • Respond to incidents of theft and security observations as identified and/or directed by the Risk & Compliance Director.
  • Investigate breaches of company policy and all areas of misconduct and gross misconduct.
  • Investigate thefts involving taking statements, reviewing CCTV and gathering evidence where required and report all findings to the Risk & Compliance Director.
  • Produce factual investigation reports for the disciplining officer for appropriate action to be taken.
  • Produce monthly management reporting to identify trends and actions required.
  • Liaise with external agencies, such as the Police, Local Authorities and other groups involved with preventing crime.
  • Advise where policy and end-to-end processes can be amended to improve their robustness to further reduce the potential for financial loss in the business.
  • Work closely alongside the Stock & Margin Controller to ensure robust stock management processes are in place.
  • Develop strong working relationships within the Risk Team and across other departmental areas to improve the overall profitability of the company through investigation into known and unknown losses across the business.


What We’re After:


  • To be successful for this role, you will have previous experience in a similar role in a Retail or Hospitality/QSR business.
  • Have the ability to evaluate risk and make appropriate decisions.
  • Develop and maintain up to date professional and technical competence to achieve objectives.
  • You will be professional and self-motivated, including the ability to work using own initiative.
  • You have a flexible approach with the ability to react quickly.
  • Ability to manage workload within agreed timelines.
  • Work on your own and as part of the Risk & Compliance team.
  • You have excellent communication skills with the ability to develop good relationships within the business.
  • Have a full UK driving Licence.
  • Have experience of interviewing individuals in formal situations.
