ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Based in London, we’re seeking an experienced Programme Director with proven insurance sector experience to join our Client Delivery team. You’ll be accountable for delivering a high-profile, large-scale programme for a key strategic client, successfully ensuring delivery to time, cost, scope and quality. You’ll be leading a team of Project Managers (matrix management with possibility of some line management), acting as a point of escalation for project managers and facing off to the clients’ Programme / Transformation Directors.

Responsibilities will include:

  1. People Skills:
    • Providing visible, authentic, and skilled people leadership, with a proven ability to build high performing diverse and inclusive teams.
    • Lead, motivate and inspire a programme team comprised of various resources within different INSTANDA teams, including PMs, Business Analysts, Configurators, QA staff and Engineering staff where applicable.
    • Cultivate a collaborative and high-performance ethos within the team.
    • Act as a point of escalation for project managers.
  2. Technical:
    • Lead high-profile programmes of work from project set-up through planning, build and transition to support; and take accountability for the associated project workstreams within Deliver to time, cost, scope, and quality metrics.
    • Ensure the timely production of client contracts that accurately represent scope of implementation and associated baselined plans.
    • Represent INSTANDA at Programme SteerCo meetings, both with the client and internally.
    • Provide timely and accurate programme status reports to the Senior Management / Exec Teams as required.
    • Contribute to the evolution of the INSTANDA Delivery Methodology, enhancing the framework to drive cost and time efficiencies.
    • Contribute to Monthly Finance reviews to align billing, revenue recognition and profitability of allocated Programmes.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Min. 5 years demonstrable, proven Insurance sector experience - delivery of projects/programmes for Insurers / MGAs / Brokers within the General Insurance space. Experience in delivering Digital products / Digital Transformation within Insurance. Extensive professional experience in project/programme management roles, with supporting qualifications. Experience of leading and managing sizeable programme teams. Experience of leading teams and a Leadership mentality with the ability to grow and develop talent. Agile and Waterfall Delivery expertise. Experience in a client-facing role demonstrating excellent relationship building skills with a knack for managing difficult messages. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a track record in expressing technical concepts in everyday language.

Nice to haves

  • Experience working for a start-up or fast-paced technology-focused company.
  • Experience in migrating books of business / data migration.
