Course Description


Technology- driven organizations have the potential for robust growth and substantial returns. However, economic, business and industry factors can all impact their valuation, so investing in digital requires a nuanced understanding of how these businesses operate and the inherent opportunities and risks they present. The Program in Value Investing in Technology by Columbia Business School Executive Education allows participants to learn how to become a strategic investor by applying the value-investing approach to make informed decisions on technology investments, even in times of crisis, understand the key differences in the valuation of technology-led organizations, which rely on intangible assets, compared to non-technology-led organizations. By the end of the program, - participants will know how to estimate an organization’s asset value, earnings power value, and make educated stock selections by learning how business, industry, and economic factors impact the modern valuation protocol.


Information about the role – Program Leader


Emeritus is seeking Program Leader in Value Investing in Technology for Columbia Business School Executive Education. The Program Leader is a subject matter expert that shapes the student’s experience and guides students through their learning journey. Candidates must have industry experience, demonstrated knowledge of the course subject area, strong interpersonal skills, and previous experience in a teaching, mentoring or other instructional role. This is a great role for someone who wants work flexibility and the chance to diversify their resume with consultancy and teaching experience. This is an independent contractor position in a remote setting.


Responsibilities of the Program Leader include but are not limited to:


  • Respond to group and individual questions about program content and assignments.
  • Conduct interactive webinars to stimulate student learning.
  • Provide assignment feedback on a select number of assignments in the program.
  • Monitor student discussions.
  • Collaborate with the Emeritus team to solve unexpected program challenges.
  • Suggest improvements to ensure content is communicated clearly, accurately, and effectively in videos, assignments and collateral materials.


Qualifications for the role


  • 10+ years of extensive work experience in the field of finance, economy or any related field.
  • A degree plus MBA from a top university.
  • Experience with financial analysis, valuations, real estate investing, trade and theoretical and empirical models.
  • Experience with global investment and venture capital.
  • Experience with investment engine technologies to solve complex business problems.
  • Experience building roadmaps and execution strategies for your areas of ownership in the investment ecosystem.
  • Experience designing and documenting solutions that drive business value.
  • Experience facilitating and teaching executives, preferably in an online environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to listen effectively, respond appropriately, and maintain a mutual comfort level while working with a diverse population.
