The Role

As a Project Architect, you will play a crucial role in producing design information for various projects, ensuring they are completed on time, on budget, and meet client expectations. This role involves:

  • Day-to-Day Management: Oversee the architectural design function within specific projects, providing support and instruction to team members.
  • Strategic Vision: Work in line with the overall strategic design vision of the practice.
  • Team Leadership: Manage architectural technicians, assistants, and external design consultants.
  • Client Communication: Deliver design services and communicate effectively with clients as needed.
  • Quality Oversight: Ensure all design information is checked and approved before issue.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead consultant meetings, client meetings, and internal design reviews.
  • Produce comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, imagery, schedules, and specifications.
  • Attend site inspections and reviews as necessary.
  • Ensure design information produced by subordinates meets required standards.


Client Monitoring Team (CMT) and Contract Administration (CA)

As part of this delivery role, you will also have the opportunity to engage with the Client Monitoring Team (CMT) services and Contract Administration (CA). The practice is particularly interested in meeting candidates with experience or a keen interest in these types of work, as they are integral to the successful delivery of projects.


What You Need to Bring

  • Essential Skills & Knowledge:
  • RIBA Part 3 qualification with 2 to 4 years post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience in job-running projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of UK planning legislation, guidance, and Building Regulations.
  • Fluent in business English, both written and spoken.
  • Software proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, NBS Chorus, Microsoft Office, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketch-Up.
  • Additional Skills & Knowledge:
  • Experience or interest in residential and/or mixed-use development.
  • Commitment to best practices and Health & Safety standards.
  • Knowledge of Dynamo and Microsoft Project is a plus.
