Studio Sutton is looking for a talented and highly motivated project architect or senior interior architect to join its team in London. The studio is currently working on a series of exciting projects, predominantly within the commercial workplace sector, both in the UK and internationally.


The role

The chosen candidate would welcome becoming an integral part of a small, dynamic and friendly team predominantly based in our studio near London Bridge. The chosen candidate would take on the responsibility of project architect or senior interior architect for one or several of our upcoming commercial workspace projects.


As a result, we are looking for candidates who have proven and demonstrable experience managing the design and delivery of high-quality projects from concept through to completion. They should have experience successfully leading a team, both internally and externally liaising directly with key stakeholders and reporting to practice directors.


Beyond project work, there is an expectation that the chosen candidate will actively contribute to the overall development, progression and culture of the studio; improving standards, work processes and sharing of knowledge.


In exchange, the studio will provide excellent mentoring and professional development opportunities through good exposure to the operation of an ambitious architectural and interior design studio. We are passionate about design and aim to regularly attend relevant talks and exhibitions.


Requirements:

  • Part 3 architecture or equivalent interior architecture qualification
  • a minimum of three years, post qualification, UK-based work experience in the commercial workplace and fit out sector
  • demonstrable experience relating to the role described above on high-quality, realised, commercial projects
  • demonstrable experience in all stages of design projects, from concept to tender to construction and handover
  • excellent knowledge of UK building regulations, particularly related to interior commercial fit-out projects
  • excellent interiors specification knowledge including furniture
  • excellent skills in Vectorworks 2D and ideally 3D – applicants without Vectorworks skills will not be considered
  • experience in Vectorworks BIM processes is a bonus
  • excellent skills in Adobe Creative Suite Applications (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • skills in other software such as Adobe After Effects and Twin Motion is a bonus
  • ability to work in an Apple Mac environment
  • UK resident status and legally able to work in the UK and commute to our London studio
  • ability to attend site visits and client meetings both with London, the wider UK and internationally, as required
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • self-motivated with excellent intuition, initiative and ability to work independently, whether remotely or in the office
  • excellent time management and organisational skills and commitment to meeting strict client deadlines
  • excellent attention to detail
