This role offers a chance to enhance communication across the organisation, contributing to better healthcare outcomes through effective data sharing. Key Responsibilities: Oversee Comprehensive FOI Management: Lead the management of Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, including the application of relevant sections of the Act, redactions, and the drafting of detailed responses. Ensure all FOI responses are completed accurately and within statutory timelines, and develop standard operating procedures for handling FOI requests efficiently. Coordinate High-Stakes Parliamentary Questions and Public Enquiries: Develop and implement a robust process for coordinating responses to parliamentary questions and public enquiries. This involves liaising with internal teams, gathering required information, and ensuring responses are aligned with the strategic messaging of the FDP programme. Develop Strategic Briefings for Key Stakeholder Engagements: Prepare and deliver comprehensive briefings and presentation materials for external stakeholder meetings, ensuring they effectively communicate complex programme details and support decision-making processes. Collaborate with senior leadership to refine messaging and ensure alignment with programme objectives. Lead Planning and Execution of Strategic NHS Events: Organise, plan, and manage high-profile NHS events, including workshops, briefings, and panel discussions. Ensure these events align with the strategic goals of the FDP programme and enhance stakeholder engagement. This includes coordinating speaker notes, presentation materials, and logistical arrangements. Maintain and Enhance the Programme’s Knowledge Base: Continuously update and expand the FAQ knowledge base to ensure it remains a relevant and valuable resource for internal and external stakeholders. Implement feedback mechanisms to capture new queries and refine content based on user needs. Provide Strategic Leadership and Support: Act as a key advisor and support to the PMO Lead and Assistant Director, stepping in to deputise as needed. Offer guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes high performance and continuous improvement. Ensure Compliance with Best Practices and Legal Requirements: Ensure all communications and events management activities are conducted in line with NHS best practices and legal requirements. Engage with legal and compliance teams to ensure all outputs are reviewed and meet the necessary standards. About You: We are looking for someone with solid experience in managing communications and events, especially in the public sector or healthcare. You should have a strong track record in handling Freedom of Information requests, Parliamentary Questions, and preparing briefings. You understand the importance of clear communication and ensuring everything aligns with our programme’s goals. Your skills in organising events and supporting PMO functions are essential to the success of our Federated Data Platform Programme. Proven experience managing complex communications, including FOI requests and Parliamentary Questions, within the public sector or healthcare. Strong event management skills and experience supporting PMO functions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organisational abilities, and attention to detail. Proficiency with office tools and virtual event platforms. Working Conditions: Primarily remote, with occasional travel to NHS England offices in Waterloo, London. Salary: £58,972 - £68,525 per annum (AfC Band 8B). Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week). Why Join Us?
