Job Description

Project EcologistThe Role:Your role will be to plan, manage and deliver professional ecological services to a broad range of clients. You will be responsible for the coordination of surveys and field staff, as well as liaison with clients and other professionals and organisations.You will be based in Lee on the Solent, Hampshire, with travel throughout the region and occasionally the surrounding areas. Your time will be divided between office and field-based work.Responsibilities:Liaison with clients and other professionals and organisationsProduction of technical ecological reports including impact assessment and mitigation strategiesEPS licence applicationsProject coordination and management, including coordination of surveys and field staffIn-field ecology and protected species surveysQualifications:The following experience is essential:Relevant Bachelor’s degree as a minimumAt least two years’ experience, capable of taking on your own projects and clients as soon as settled into the teamExperience with:Production of a range of technical reports including impact assessment and mitigation strategiesEPS licence applicationsProject coordination and managementClient liaison & project tenderingStrong all-around field skillsStrong communication, organisation and team working skills, positive attitude, self-discipline and a desire to be challengedFull drivers licenceThe following are recommended:Protected Species survey licences desirable, particularly batsExperience creating habitat maps using GIS systems, particularly QGISBat sound analysis using AnalookSentinel card with PTS + AC/DCCR or willingness to obtainOngoing training opportunities will be provided, alongside a competitive salary and a supportive, dynamic and friendly working environment.
