Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fit Out Estimator to join our growing team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential and/or commercial fit-out projects. This includes analysing project plans, specifications, and material requirements to determine labour, material, and equipment costs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough site surveys and analyse project specifications to understand project scope and complexity.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for all aspects of the fit-out project, including:
- Materials (including finishes, fixtures, and equipment)
- Labour (including different trades and their associated rates)
- Equipment rentals
- Subcontractor costs
- Permits and contingencies
- Research and obtain competitive quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Analyse data and market trends to ensure estimates are accurate and reflect current pricing.
- Identify potential cost risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain a cost database to track historical project data for future reference.
- Prepare bid proposals and presentations for potential clients.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure project feasibility within budget.
- Manage and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Fit Out Estimator or a related role in the construction industry.
- Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Understanding of construction methods and materials for fit-out projects.
- Experience with building codes and regulations (a plus).
- Valid driver's license
