Job Description

We are looking for a highly-capable Project Engineer to join Transcal Limited, based in Livingston, West Lothian Scotland.


The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of strategic and tactical activities for implementing operational initiatives, designed to exceed customer expectations of product performance, quality, cost, and delivery.


The salary range for this position is £30,000-40,000 p.a. (DOE)


Role outline

  • Develop & maintain timing plans in line with project objectives to achieve timely delivery of the commodity.
  • Lead internal reviews with cross functional teams combining design, sales, finance, purchasing, production & quality.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers (both internal and external), keeping them fully up to date on progress with the project and dealing with any queries raised.
  • Liaise with suppliers to manage and control supply chain to ensure correct material provision.
  • Collaborate with functions across the business to new business opportunities are accurately priced and planned at the outset.
  • Develop and maintain project plan to ensure projects are on time and on budget ability to escalate issues if required.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills.
  • Take ownership of major projects, developing a budget and manufacturing plan with clear objectives to build accountability across the teams and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Work closely with Sales and Finance to undertake cyclical review of actual vs forecast costs for materials jobs/contracts. Feedback any learning from this into future pricing activities


Requirements

  • Project management or equivalent relevant experience in delivering project attributes.
  • Previous delivery of components from start to finish. Design, product development production & after sales.
  • Production management and/or project management qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing environment (automotive & textiles) is strongly preferred

  • Can work systematically within clear guidelines and help to set the goals and objectives to achieve required results consistently.

  • Ability to perform consistently under pressure.


Work hours (subject to changes dependent on business requirements)

Mon - Friday: 8.30 to 17.00
