The Project Manager will join Vida’s Change team and support the Head of Portfolio Delivery in the management and successful delivery of projects.

Vida’s change agenda is considerable and varied, where projects need to be expertly managed as the business grows and expands into new areas and products.

The project manager is a point person on the portfolio delivery team, using their high-level perspective to define plans, set priorities and ensure the team maintains a cohesive vision despite the flexible and often fast-paced nature of agile delivery. Everyone needs to be on the same page in order for a project to be effective and successfully delivered.

Project managers are responsible for communicating with stakeholders from across the business - Commercial, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Servicing, Risk, HR , IT, Change and Data teams, as well as our ‘best of breed’ third party suppliers - making sure the goals are clear and the vision remains aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Supporting the Head of Portfolio Delivery (HoPD) in developing and maintaining the portfolio roadmap.

- Work with all stakeholders to manage requirements and align project plan to strategic goals.

- Build and maintain the project plan, monitoring and controlling activity to ensure timely delivery.

- Set key objectives and results, applying data and insight to make business decisions.

- Responsible for management and escalation of risks and issues.

- Actively identify and manage dependencies both within projects and across the wider portfolio.

- Define success metrics - baseline at the beginning of projects and use these to measure benefits.

- Drive the day to day delivery activities across the project, from initial shaping and mobilisation through to deployment and post go live support.

- Help shape the change methodology, constantly looking for ways to optimise and enhance this.

- Build strong relationships with stakeholders from across the business and provide updates as required to the Executive, Management Board and the Change, IT and Data teams.

- Design and execute communication plans for both internal and external parties.

- Support the HoPD by preparing / giving weekly and monthly project status updates and reports.

- Be a champion for Agile Project Delivery, Feature-led Development and Design Thinking.

Knowledge & Experience

- Extensive and successful track record of delivering multiple change initiatives within deadlines.

- Good working knowledge of industry-standard project management methodologies – waterfall, agile and hybrid.

- Understanding of the retail banking / mortgage industry, market conditions and trends is preferable.

- Great team player with a natural ability to produce excellent results.

- Knows how to define a project plan / roadmap.

- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

- Excellent attention to detail.

- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Creative and innovative thinker.

- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience of working with senior stakeholders and c-suite members.

- Ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver on a common goal.

- Good understanding of technology and the technology delivery cycle.

- The ability to remain effective in a fast-paced and changing environment.
