Job Description

The Project Planner / Program Manager vacancy is working with a PLC listed International Civil and Construction organisation upon major civil construction projects across the North of Wales.

Reporting directly to the Head of Planning, the Project Planner will be responsible for the program management of a range of NEC civil engineering projects across the North of Wales, including heavy civils works, e.g. highways, marine/coastal, rail etc. Projects typically range from £500k to £16m.

The position allows for hybrid working in which you will be leading in the coordination of projects from tender to client and end-user handover. The role will have requirement to visit projects across the North of Wales.

Experience and Qualifications required for Project Planner vacancy

  • HNC/HND or Graduate degree in Civil Engineering or related Construction Qualification
  • Experience of a wide range of civil engineering projects and disciplines
  • Experience of NEC contracts
  • Able to demonstrate a wide range of Civil Engineering knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages such as - Word and Excel

Duties of Project Planner

  • Managing controlled project documentation
  • Drawing up and supporting the implementation of a construction programme
  • Defining methods and establishing outputs in consultation with the estimator and other team members
  • Preparing a resourced programme including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements
  • Compiling the forecast programmes
  • Preparing, maintaining and communicating the contractual programme to meet requirements
  • Working with the Site Agents to understand progress, milestones and activity completion
  • Treating Health and Safety and environmental matters as primary drivers of approach
