Location: Tower of London, with regular travel to other London palaces

Reports to: Charity PR & Public Affairs Manager

Responsible for: Temporary PR Interns

Purpose of this role:

To manage the PR of events and corporate projects across all six HRP sites, while working alongside the Charity PR & Public Affairs Manager and PR team on key projects and press trips, supporting the Filming Officer with filming requests (making significant contribution to annual income target and contributing to the management of Press Office admin (cuttings, media database, image library, etc.)

What you will be doing in your role:

  • Be a core member of the Press Office Team
  • Manage and influence the image and reputation of HRP in the wider world
  • Maintain strong media relationships and develop and expand HRP’s media contacts.
  • Represent our organisation to the media and other influential stakeholders.
  • Deal with incoming enquiries promptly, providing good customer service to journalists and broadcasters.
  • Work out of hours where required (overtime / TOIL will be provided)
  • Advise internal colleagues on media and PR
  • Manage the content of the Press Office webpage
  • Manage the day-to-day running of media monitoring service, webpages, image library
  • Provide 24-hour, on-call press office cover on the out-of-hours duty mobile (shared on a rota)

Management of PR of core events projects

  • With other Press Officer, share management of events and public programme PR for all six HRP sites, as well as supporting with income generating third party PR (e.g. Music Festival, Ice Rinks) across HRP
  • Regional PR & key partners liaison

Work alongside the PR Managers on the PR of key projects

  • Annual exhibitions and large-scale events
  • Corporate communications
  • Press trips and international PR opportunities
  • Large scale filming support & photography management across HRP (including location filming and live broadcasts)
  • Royal and stakeholder visits

Support filming across the palaces

  • Work with the team to meet the income target for filming projects and assist Filming team with incoming requests
  • Manage and supervise film crews onsite
  • Coordinate all paperwork legally required for filming requests, including filming contracts
  • Invoice promptly after filming

Work alongside the team organising press trips / press events

  • Act as a representative of HRP at media events
  • Manage journalist and influencer visits and organising press days
  • Create comprehensive press packs and resources for visiting media

Ensure that the Press Office runs smoothly and efficiently by:-

  • Co-management of media contact databases
  • Co-management of coverage monitoring service
  • Commissioning new photography and managing press image library via Digital Asset Management System
  • Update press resources to HRP Media webpage

To undertake any other reasonable tasks as requested by your manager
