Job Description

The Purchasing and Payments Team in the Housing and Neighbourhood Service has opportunities for people to join them as Purchasing and Payments Officers.There are a minimum of 3 positions available, which can be either full time or part time, to cover 111 hours in total. The minimum number of hours that the service will consider part time is 21hrs. Unfortunately we are not able to consider term time only due to service needs. Hours and days to be worked to be discussed. We are a small, dedicated, and supportive team who provide exceptional service to several housing teams to purchase goods and services on their behalf. The successful applicants must be team players, with excellent customer service and communication skills. You will need to be able to use a computer system to process requisitions, invoices, and purchase orders on the Council’s finance system. Experience using a financial system to process orders and payments is preferred, but not essential - training will be provided for the right applicants if you are not able to currently do this. You will also need to be competent in the use other applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams as well. The successful candidate will have the ability to prioritise, work to deadlines and follow standard operating procedures. We need enthusiastic and motivated individuals to ensure day to day delivery is kept to the very highest standards and you must have excellent accuracy and attention to detail skills. The role is hybrid, with a mix of home working and in our office at Solpro. In terms of GCSE’s, we are ideally looking for someone who has Maths and English GCSE’s or equivalent experience as a minimum.
