Role: Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the business units to generate growth through procurement and supply chain activity.

You will manage a small team, parts availability and inventory planning whilst also coordinating process improvements and cost reduction activities.

ARCA are looking to speak with experienced Purchasing Managers with experience in the following:

Key responsibilities:

  • Implement a sustainable supplier-centric approach to effectively manage material spend across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Utilise negotiation skills to establish stock holding agreements or alternative methods that facilitate seamless materials flow.
  • Take ownership of the supply base across various locations including the UK, Europe, Asia, US, and other locations identified through strategic sourcing.
  • Assume responsibility for stock availability to efficiently manage stock levels, ensuring the right parts are in the right place, in the right quantity, and at the right time.
  • Identify and address supply chain risks to enhance the success of customer order delivery.

Essential skills:

  • MCIPS qualification or actively pursuing it is preferred.
  • A degree in Business or a Manufacturing-related field is preferred.
  • Capable of working strategically, tactically, and operationally.
  • Previous experience in managing a small team within a procurement or supply chain role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven expertise in negotiation, contract management, and building relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Possesses commercial and financial acumen, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • A strong work ethic with a dedicated focus on delivering excellent customer service.
  • Proficient in presentation and communication skills.
