Job Description Purchasing OfficerDuration: Initially 3 months Hours: 37 hours per week Rate; £16 umbrella an hour (£13 PAYE an hour)Slough Borough Council are looking for Purchasing Officer to join their Adult's Strategy and Commissioning Team. This team provides operational delivery of the Purchasing function for Adult Social Care Locality Teams, Community Mental Health Team, Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities, Hospital Social Work Team and Continuing Healthcare Team.As a Purchasing Officer, you will:Provide a purchasing function within the Purchasing Team in respect of externally sourced adult social and health funded services such as residential and nursing home, domiciliary care, supported living and support servicesLiaise with operational social work teams to identify care and support and specialist need requirements of individualsSource and negotiate prices for services within agreed budget parametersAdminister and keep up to date electronic records of all contacts madeRecord purchasing activityRequirementsExperience acquired through a combination of training and working in a relevant areaAble to use software suites including Microsoft Office and ExcelExperience in project management workEducated to GCSE/A Level/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with practical knowledge
