Job Description

QA Engineer

Location: Hybrid - 2 days per week in our Ballymena HQ, Co Antrim.

Contract type: Permanent. 40 hrs per week, Mon - Fri.

We pride ourselves on delivering world class solutions to our clients and rely on our talented and experienced Technology team to work together with Delivery to ensure product releases are delivered to the very best quality.

As a QA Engineer you will be involved in the testing stage of software development and deployment. You will work in a team to conduct manual and automated tests to ensure the software created is fit for purpose and any bugs or issues are resolved before the software is deployed to our users.

You will be an enthusiastic team worker who has a passion for developing your career in technology.

What you will do:

  1. Identify and raise incidents in a timely manner
  2. Liaise with internal teams including developers and product managers to identify system requirements and help to plan out our new features
  3. Provide QA support for existing customers by reviewing issues and ensuring timely resolution
  4. Provide QA support on new project implementations
  5. Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
  6. Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
  7. Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities
  8. Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
  9. Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  10. Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  11. Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
  12. Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
  13. Monitor debugging process results
  14. Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
  15. Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
  16. Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies

What we are looking for:

  1. Be educated to degree level in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar subject OR equivalent experience
  2. Have 2 years experience in a software testing or quality assurance role
  3. Have a strong working knowledge of software methodologies, tools and processes
  4. Have experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test cases
  5. Have experience of working in an agile/scrum environment
