QA Engineering Specialist The location of the role is Birmingham (hybrid working) . The duration of the contract is 31/03/25 . The pay rate on offer is £365.00 per day via Umbrella Summary We are seeking an experienced QA Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in testing and automation, particularly within the telecoms sector, and have a passion for ensuring the highest quality standards in software and system performance. Key Responsibilities: Conduct performance testing of SIP/VoIP calls using tools such as SIPp, Spectra, WinSIP, and StarTrinity. Develop and execute automated test scripts using Python and Robot Framework. Automate API testing and perform load testing with tools like Locust, Blazemeter/Taurus, k6, newman, and jmeter. Perform GUI automation testing with TestCafe, Robot Framework, and Selenium. Integrate testing within CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployments. Utilize Ansible and Terraform for Linux build automation. Manage basic Linux and Windows administration tasks. Work with various operating systems including Linux (RHEL, CentOS, OEL) and Windows Servers/Workstations. Handle DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Active Directory, and other server management tasks. Test and troubleshoot telecom applications and protocols such as Metaswitch Rhino, Dialogic Media Server, and SIP/RTP protocols. Ensure adherence to ITIL processes and implement security measures/system hardening on telecom applications. Essential Skills: Proficiency in SIP/VoIP call performance testing with tools like SIPp, Spectra, WinSIP, and StarTrinity. Strong experience with automation frameworks such as Python and Robot Framework. Expertise in API automation and performance testing using Locust, Blazemeter/Taurus, k6, newman, and jmeter. Hands-on experience with GUI automation tools like TestCafe, Robot Framework, and Selenium. Knowledge of CI/CD test integration. Familiarity with Ansible and Terraform for automating Linux builds. Solid Linux and Windows administration skills. Experience with telecom protocols and applications including Metaswitch Rhino, Dialogic Media Server, and Perimeta SBC. Knowledge of ITIL processes and telecom application security hardening. Desirable Skills: SSCA SIP School Certified Associate certification. Familiarity with Intelligent Network protocols like INAP, CAP, and MAP. Experience using the Metaswitch Scenario Simulator for SIP, INAP, and MAP protocol testing. Strong scripting abilities, particularly in Python.
