Our client is a rapidly expanding modular house manufacturing business, making beautiful, sustainable and precision-built homes. Started in 2017 with less than 50 staff, their head count is now over 1000 people! Fundamental to their success, the Quality System Team are working to ensure processes and their interactions are well-defined and embedded throughout the business.
The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating internal audits in accordance with the annual audit programme, looks after and supports a team of internal auditors and takes a governance role to manage the company audit findings register to ensure all non-conforming matters are dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner.
The post holder will also be actively involved in the implementation & maintenance of an integrated management system.
Demonstrating a passion and enthusiasm for quality, the Quality Assurance Engineer will supportquality compliance and improvement by defining the methods used to measure system and keyprocess's characteristics and efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities:
Determine and communicate the annual audit programme for all internal and external audits.Ensure risk-based approach, the needs of the growing business and external requirementsare taken into consideration.
Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirement.
Ensure internal audits are conducted according to annual audit programme.
Play an active role in auditing suppliers and aiding the purchasing team in supplier selection.
Review and develop competency assessment process of internal auditors. Coach and support internal auditors, arrange workshop or identify methods to improve auditor's skillset.
Conduct internal audits as a Lead or a Support Auditor. Ensure audits effectively assess compliance against internal and external requirements, and audits are focusing on drivingimprovement.
Communicate to and work with departmental stakeholder to address findings from l51 and 3rd party audits.
Lead and / or support root cause analysis. Act as governance to ensure all mattersare being investigated.
Work with Process Owners to ensure actions resulting from audits are resolved effectively,efficiently and in a timely manner. Conduct verification before closing out findings.
Oversee and manage the Audit Findings Register.
Define, collect and analyse data relevant to the performance of the quality managementsystem in particular activities related to auditing.
Collate and report KPl's on a regular basis. Communicate and escalate quality concerns
Support the implementation and development of an integrated management system (ISO9001, BOPAS, ISO14001, ISO45001)
Participate in continuous improvement and quality system development activities
Take an active role in process mapping workshops for improvement, waste reduction and to ensure external requirements are being met.
Support the Quality Manager and the Head of Quality in various quality activities to helpdeveloping a Quality culture throughout the organisation.
Quality Assurance Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications & Training:
Engineering or technical degree preferred
Presentation skills
Additional Preferred skills include: ISO 9001 or similar auditing experience, knowledgeof quality planning tools & methodologies including Risk Assessments, Process ControlPlan (PCP), Problem solving skills, Six sigma or statistical process control techniques, capability analysis and lean manufacturing philosophies, project management
Experience
Minimum of 3 years in quality assurance role
Experience in manufacturing, engineering or construction environment
Auditing to standards (ISO 9000 or similar)
Experience within a start-up or rapidly expanding business is advantage
