Job Description

The Asset Support and Outage Excellence Team UK play a key role supporting power plant and gas storage projects, outages and maintenance activities across Uniper's UK and Swedish assets. The role is high-profile in helping to assure the quality that underpins security of supply and delivering Uniper's business strategy to accelerate the energy transition.We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity, offering the opportunities to improve quality assurance development initiatives, support station projects, outages and maintenance activities across Uniper's power generation and storage fleet. Your responsibilities You will be responsible to the Team Leader for ensuring that work targets and objectives are satisfactorily completed and that all work is completed across the main KPI’s (safety, time, cost, quality, technical performance and compliance). A flexible attitude, innovative approach, desire for new challenges and the ability to work within a small & medium size team are key characteristics you will show. Supporting project implementation, you will manage stakeholders to provide onsite support of QA and QC processes and demonstrate how they are adding value by helping to ensure that business targets are met, and a continuous improvement process is maintained. Ensure best practice is employed by networking and benchmark comparisons with other functions and businesses to achieve optimum business performance. Using your stakeholder management skills, collaborate with Uniper’s functions such as Asset Operations, Procurement, Operational Excellence and IT to create collaborative standards and processes and improve quality performance. Your detailed mindset will ensure all team operations and activities meet internal and external audit standards and where deficiencies are identified ensure action plans are in place and progressed effectively. You will manage and contribute to the improvement of Quality Assurance including regular audits of the work control management process. Your responsibilities will include ensuring projects meet the quality standards required to minimise total quality costs and maximise customer satisfaction whilst ensuring procedures and processes are adhered to. You will be responsible for delivering and managing quality initiatives working closely with Uniper’s functional organisation, OEMS’s and supply chains to ensure compliance, security of supply and the highest standard of HSSEQ performance. You will be self-motivated and demonstrate a proactive approach, clearly identifying practical and effective means of improving technical, commercial or procedural aspects related to the role. You will support wider business initiatives (global) and policy developments ensuring quality is embedded throughout. Your profile Essential An HNC or engineering degree qualification and/or engineering craft-based qualification and/or appropriate Project Management or Quality Assurance qualification, with relevant process plant knowledge and experience. Experience in ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Requirements and Root Cause Analysis Techniques An understanding of health, safety and environmental legislation and standards and a positive safety and quality mind set including a safety management qualification (IOSH Managing Safely / NEBOSH Certificate) Experience in implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes and their practical application through performing inspections of work within a process environment. A demonstrable track record of applying continuous improvement techniques to improve performance of management systems and processes. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across functions and with site teams Strong interpersonal skills to create effective working relationships with all stakeholders The confidence to challenge established practices and suggesting imaginative solutions Full UK applicable drivers license Desirable: APMP or Prince 2 qualification in project management. Knowledge and competence of using SAP based systems. Experience in application of lean tools.
