Location: Poole, Dorset
Hours: 45 hours a week, Monday to Friday (can include weekends)

We have a proven track record in supplying a diverse customer base including Restaurant Groups, Airlines, Cruise Ships, High Street & Catering Butchers, UK Multiples and Online Businesses.

We are expanding our team and are looking for a QA Operative to join our Production team. As a QA Operative you will be responsible for daily quality assurance checks of products and processes, ensuring the quality and compliance of incoming raw materials.

  • To maintain and develop team building relationships with key managers within the factory environment
  • To coordinate/provide prompt and appropriate responses to all internal technical and food safety issues
  • To maintain a good knowledge of the products produced and the manufacturing processes used at the site
  • Conduct thorough inspections of incoming raw materials to ensure they meet defined specifications, labelling requirements, and are sourced from approved suppliers
  • Take temperatures at intake, dispatch and during production, ensuring adherence to temperature control requirements
  • Communicate effectively via written communication, including emails, to report findings, deviations and quality issues
  • Routinely monitor hygiene and production practices, plant and product to ensure that GMP is being followed. Ensure that the product complies with expected standards in relation to product safety, legality and quality
  • Ensure that all procedures and practices relating to product traceability are maintained and adhered to, including the accurate completion of all related paperwork
  • Carry out internal audits such as daily start-up, glass and hard plastic etc. as required or instructed
  • Ensure that all essential equipment such as temperature probes, scales, metal detectors etc. are working correctly
  • Monitor the factory and product temperatures ensuring that any out of tolerance results are reported immediately

Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge of products and manufacturing process
  • Meat science/technology; strong knowledge base
  • Numeracy
  • Written and spoken English
  • Quality Control and understanding of product allergens
  • Food Safety Level 2 and/or HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) Level 2
