Job Description

A Global Manufacturer based in Manchester is currently recruiting for a Quality Lead to join their team. The Quality Lead will need to be experienced in developing a Quality Management System (QMS) (ISO 9001) and an Environmental Management System (EMS) (ISO 14001) as well as experience in obtaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification. This role will act as the key point of contact for external ISO accreditors. Additionally, they will develop an internal audit plan and conduct regular quality and compliance audits. A Lead Auditor Training certification will be beneficial


This role is site based and post study work visas / sponsorship can not be considered.


This role will require experience in a Chemical / Food / Pharmaceutical / Cosmetics manufacturing environment.


Quality Lead responsibilities include:


Assure compliance of the site to ISO 9001 and ISO14001 by following corporate guidance and prepare the site for Internal and External ISO audits

Prepare Internal audit plan and implement it effectively

Log all Quality Hazards and Non Conformances on the system and make sure appropriate actions are identified and implemented

Follow Up all the CIP quality actions derived from Hazards, NCR, internal and External Audits with relevant team leaders on monthly basis and maintain action completion rate > 85%

Investigate quality complaints using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions

Maintain waste streams log and dispose of waste streams properly using licensed waste disposal companies

Complete supplier and customer assessments for the products information and plant preparedness

Ensure batches, deviations, change controls and other Quality documents are progressed to the requirements of site Standard and ISO standard

Work with departments to resolve non-conformities related to Quality. Support continuous improvement, acting as a problem solving reference point to rectify and improve product and service related issues.

Prepare monthly quality presentation/reports and communicate with Site Management and shop floor and display on the notice boards

Supporting the Safety Department as business requires


You will ideally be Degree / equivalent qualified with experience working in a QA supervisor capacity within a manufacturing environment. ISO Lead/ internal auditor qualification and experience in the Batch Manufacturing Food / Chemical / Pharmaceuticals / Cosmetics would be advantageous as well as IOSH Managing Safely
