Job Summary

Act as a Quality Assurance (QA) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for training performance deliverables within your field of expertise, specifically in Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) and Public Service Vehicle (PSV) engineering inspection. The role will involve promoting awareness of QA guidelines and driving a quality culture throughout the training operation. Providing expert guidance on best practices and ensure that all training materials, assessments, and procedures meet the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, plan and evaluate training QA performance/observation trainer reports and audits for training support services to maintain Quality Management System (QMS) standards.
  • Assist the management team to develop, monitor and review trainer delivery and performance standards across the training team.
  • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within your field, engineering inspections, you will support the development team to assist with training projects such as the production and maintenance of training resources, ensuring information relating to key legislative aspects is both relevant and accurate.
  • Complete training of external courses as required.
  • Provide the highest standard of coaching and product and delivery standards training to internal and associate trainers.
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of training delivery against defined delivery standards providing feedback, support and guidance where required.
  • Prepare and monitor all QA reports to ensure accurate and timely completion, including NCCI reports.
  • Organise, undertake and accurately document all QA observations as per the QA audit plan.
  • Support internal and associate trainer development and contribute to the overall improvement of the training support services. Includes: developing and maintaining internal/associate trainer knowledge to ensure CPD requirements are met.
  • Identify any issues, trends or training requirements across the support services team to inform the Support Services Manager.
  • Participate in product standardisation meetings to promote a continuous improvement culture within training performance and product standards.
  • Monitor, identify and respond to areas for improvement in the QMS.
  • Provide support for course accreditation and re-approvals with external approval bodies.
  • Measuring success and data administration to ensure our courses and projects target the right people and achieve desired results.
  • To perform such other duties and to accept such other responsibilities as may reasonably be required.
  • Minimum - Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
  • IRTEC Accredited Assessor; Approved Inspection Technician.
  • Proven track record in Quality Assurance and training delivery, with a focus on training performance and product audit standards.
  • Knowledge of LUK ISO quality management systems, and LUK Vehicle Inspection Operations Quality Inspection Standards.
  • Proficient in Office 365, i.e. SharePoint and PowerPoint etc.
  • Knowledge of instructional design techniques, adult learning theories and what constitutes effective learning.
  • Ability to maintain a high-quality production whilst working within budgets and deadlines.
  • Excellent writing, planning, administrative and organisational skills along with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated individual, passionate about delivering the highest quality of learning experience.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload in order meet competing demands and achieve deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communicator, able to liaise with internal and external customers- with an ability to relay information accurately and succinctly
  • Initiative and the ability to work with limited direct supervision.
  • Able to demonstrate excellent customer service and understanding of tailored customer needs.
  • Demonstrate a keen desire to develop own skills and maintain currency of existing skills and knowledge.
  • An excellent knowledge of engineering inspection standards and legislation.
  • Candidates should demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and a willingness to help others.
