LANXESS UK is now recruiting a QA/QC Analyst to work in our Widnes site! About the role! As an Analyst in our Quality Assurance department, you will be working to ensure the quality of our products pass testing, are properly documented and pass quality approval. You will be responsible for providing blend approval, final product testing and odour approval of finished products and participation in evaluation of competitor and development samples. Main Responsibilities: Method development for new process and products. Equipment maintenance and repair in the laboratory. Ensure process control monitoring is performed. Ensure the analysis for effluents, borehole and cooling tower is performed. Provide support for the production team with troubleshooting. Ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental procedures including the reporting of all accidents, near misses and incidents to the site management. Control of activities within operational boundary ensuring potential of hazards are assessed and associated risk minimised. Conduct risk and COSHH assessments. Provide raw materials analysis, assessment, and results documentation. Documenting and reporting non-conforming product / blend failures. Documenting and reporting turnovers / extensions. About You! Ideally, you will have a background in the chemical industry or related process industries with a relevant apprenticeship or degree. The role will require a keen sense of smell and you need to be confident handling chemicals and equipment. You will have knowledge of GC, GCMS and HPLC operation including equipment maintenance and wet chemistry techniques either from previous work experience or from education. You must have good communication skills confident working closely with personnel across a range of departments and levels of seniority. Once you are fully competent and have completed the required training and can demonstrate suitable competence and experience to deal with out of hour troubleshooting, you will transition to being on-call. On-call involves being available from 06:00 – 20:00, 7 day’s a week every third week. This involves a salary increase and additional on-call payment.
