Job Activities
- Perform quality control related analysis in accordance with the documented procedures, standards and specifications.
- Record, interpret and communicate results effectively to the applicable departments.
- Investigate all quality related non-conformances, support relevant departments with quality related issues. Identify and implement corrective/preventative action where appropriate.
- Perform routine verification and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working order. Troubleshoot issues when required.
- Manage equipment calibration, preventative maintenance and service to ensure compliance.
- Maintain and update relevant records (such as laboratory data files, daily verification checks, calibration logs).
- Maintain and update sample and document archives.
- Support installation and commissioning of new lab equipment.
- Support the introduction of new products at the Ferrybridge blending plant.
- Support update and maintenance of product BOM’s (bill of materials)
- Engage in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives and ensure housekeeping and cleanliness are to the highest
- Create, review and update laboratory procedures, standards test methods and risk assessments.
- Assist in the purchasing and raising of PO’s for Laboratory related equipment and consumables.
- Perform any other tasks required of the role, as requested/identified by Line manager.

Qualification and Experience Required
- Science related GCSEs or A Levels (or equivalent) with a minimum 1 year experience of a technical / laboratory background.
- Good mathematical skills.
- HND or Bachelor’s in a science related field preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within and outside the company.
- Be self-motivated and work without supervision.
- Flexible approach to problem solving and working arrangements.
- Punctual and reliable Computer literate with MS Office etc.
- SAP and ICP experience preferable
