Job Title: Quality Engineer Location: Reading Salary: £36K-£45K (depending on experience) About Our Client We are working with a leading refit and refurbishment construction company, dedicated to transforming and revitalising spaces across a range of sectors. With a reputation for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, they specialise in creating innovative, functional, and sustainable environments. Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join our client within their growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that all projects meet the highest quality standards, from planning to completion. You will work closely with the project teams, clients, and contractors to monitor processes, conduct audits, and provide guidance that promotes a culture of quality excellence across every stage of our projects. Key Responsibilities Quality Control & Assurance : Ensure all quality processes are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle, from start to finish. Documentation Review : Review and approve quality documentation to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. Audits & Inspections : Plan, conduct, and manage regular quality audits and inspections on-site to verify adherence to required standards. Non-Conformance Monitoring : Review non-conformance data, investigate root causes, and recommend corrective actions to improve processes. Performance Reporting : Track and report quality performance metrics, providing insights to support project progress. Supplier Collaboration : Support the project team and suppliers in producing high-quality deliverables, including Lifetime Records. Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on quality standards. Compliance : Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure that all projects comply with relevant legal and safety standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001). What We’re Looking For Qualifications : Membership or working towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) or a similar body. Experience : A proven track record in a quality role, ideally within the construction industry, with refit or refurbishment experience being highly desirable. Knowledge : Strong understanding of industry standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant compliance frameworks. Tools & Techniques : Familiarity with quality tools and techniques to analyse data and implement improvements. CSCS Card : Required for site work. Security Clearance
