You have a high attention to detail and proficiency in analysing data and metrics to identify root causes of quality issues. You are a problem solver capable of developing effective solutions to quality-related problem, including implementing corrective and preventive actions. Your technical knowledge is one of your strengths alongside your great communication skills which enables you to convey quality requirements and facilitate resolution of quality issues.

About the job

As a quality engineer, you are the guardian of the quality and food safety processes at our Coleford factory.

• Contribute, develop and lead validation plans/protocols for new equipment, processes, products, and packaging
• Collate documented evidence post validation to evidence validation success through verification and monitoring activities
• Conduct analysis of issues reported by consumers, identify any potential trends in failure analysis in product liquid, packaging & manufacturing and initiate recommended improvements & action plans
• To lead investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action reports and preventative measures to close out. This will include complaints from consumers, customers suppliers and incidents
• Instigate material investigations as a means of understanding root cause of issues
• Review and analysis of KPI data and provide data and information on trends when required
• To identify opportunities to prevent quality issues to ensure final products consistently meet consumer expectations
• To drive manufacturing quality and food safety performance and culture using CI tools and data analysis to identify and deliver continuous improvement projects
• Support continuous improvement activities including TPM
• Effectively use platforms including SAP QM when required
• Challenge operational and technical working processes to improve efficiencies of current methods
• To be knowledgeable with, and execute the requirements of the SBF and SBFE manufacturing standards
• Provide continuous improvement suggestions and participate in review meetings including HACCP, Food Safety & Quality Team meetings and QEHS departmental meetings
• To support traceability exercises and conduct effective after-action-reviews to drive continuous improvement of the process
• To support the delivery of all site and departmental annual targets and objectives, including participating in COVI activities
• Collaborating and communicating effectively across the business to develop and implement quality controls and improvements
• To escalate issues or non-conformances that might compromise product safety and quality in a timely manner
• Provide input into the development of user requirement specifications (URS) for quality related IT projects

• Knowledge and experience of relevant industry and certification standards such as FSSC, ISO and GMP
