Job Description

Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer, to join our team which is based at our head office in Southampton whose primary role will be completing in-depth audits to help aid the business identify improvements and in turn drive continual improvement.

As a Quality Engineer, you will be familiar with visiting construction sites and auditing from a Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety perspective. You will be able to interpret BS, ISO and other industry standards and to apply the requirements to the process and procedures within the business. You will have a background of a technical nature in Mechanical, Electrical and/or civil works.

Directly reporting to the Quality & Compliance Manager, the role will be responsible for driving improvement by way of support. Ensuring the works are delivered in accordance with Business Management Systems, contractual obligations, and legislative and regulatory requirements, including industry standards. The role will be office based with frequent visits to sites across the United Kingdom (UK).

Roles and Responsibilities, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring and Measuring Management System effectiveness via internal / external audits, (including correction and corrective actions).
  • Supporting Sites across Trant, UK wide, conducting support visits to aid continual improvement.
  • Quality Performance Report Writing, including Trend analysis, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), & monthly project KPI status.
  • Ensuring improvement actions are implemented and closed within agreed timescales.
  • Managing and communicating Quality Assurance (QA) & Quality control (QC) requirements across the project and when needed the wider business (lesson learnt)
  • Interacting with suppliers, subcontractors, project management and delivery teams, and the client for resolution of all quality-based notifications (defects, snags, complaints) and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensuring QA & QC activities are planned in accordance with the project management plans (QP & ITPs)
  • Attend & chair meetings where required including client and interested parties.
  • Keeping up to date with legislation, technical codes of practice, techniques, issues, and information.
  • Create presentations and reports, and self-deliver to any interested party where required i.e. delivery of the Company induction.
