Job Description

Cornelius is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our exciting and engaging Technical & Quality team. We are a leader within the cable assembly industry and our people are specialists within their fields.

 

The successful candidate will join our supportive and highly skilled team of Technical & Quality Engineers, with opportunities for progression and development through a programme of formal and informal training.


Key responsibilities

  • Support the Quality team to ensure the highest standard of product throughout the business.
  • Contributing to the efficient journey of NPI projects from initial development, throughout production, and introduction to customers.
  • Engaging with customers and suppliers to understand customer concepts and requirements & work with the Quality team to implement this information into production.
  • Supporting with capability assessments on equipment and processes.
  • Ensuring adherence to safety, legal, and customer specific requirements throughout the entire process, from design to launch.
  • Supporting with the preparation of quality documentation.
  • Liaising with customers to understand and rectify quality problems with products from supply chain to customer aftercare.
  • Contributing to a culture of defect prevention and waste elimination.
  • Implementing and supporting processes to ensure that corrective action is applied consistently throughout the business and across all products, ensuring that quality issues are not repeated in any other product or process.
  • Working with the Quality and Technical team, to support systems improving inter-departmental communications around quality issues, ensuring that concerns and corrective action are communicated appropriately throughout the business.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement throughout the business.

 

Key skills and experiences:

  • Qualified in relevant engineering/quality discipline.
  • Experience of working with PPAP, IPC, ISO 9001, 14001.
  • Proven experience in a Quality role within a manufacturing environment.
  • A background in quality processes within a cable assembly manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience of participating in and/or leading product and process audits,
  • Strong leadership skills, being able to influence internal teams.
  • Experience in customer relationship management, able to engage with high value customers and build strong business relationships.

 

Working hours: Monday to Thursday 7:00AM – 5:00PM
