Job Description

Principal People are delighted to be working alongside a growing installations business based just outside of South London that is recruiting for a health and safety manager to drive forward and manage the health and safety within the organisation, through open communication and a pragmatic approach.

With a senior leadership team who are completely bought into health and safety and an opportunity to work for this specialist contractor alongside some of the most recognised businesses in the Construction industry, this is a fantastic opportunity for a QHSE professional to truly make the role their own. With the business turnover almost doubling in the past 12 months, this is an opportunity for a safety professional with fresh ideas to join a forward-thinking, safety-conscious organisation and make a real difference as the sole health and safety professional.

The successful Health and Safety Manager will receive up to a total remuneration of £65,000 + Package depending on the experience level. On average the successful candidate can expect to work on a 50/50 split between office and site travel, predominantly covering sites across London’s Zone 1.

Key Responsibilities for the Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Manager include:

  1. Conducting hands-on health and safety duties including site audits, accident investigation, and risk assessments.
  2. Delivering training, mentoring, and coaching to on-site teams to drive forward the development of the organisation's health and safety standards.
  3. Working closely with all stakeholders and building relationships with them.
  4. Attending onsite and office meetings.
  5. Delivering toolbox talks to onsite teams.
  6. Maintaining internal management systems across 9001, 14001 & 45001.

The Successful Quality, Health, Safety & Environment Manager will Hold:

  1. NEBOSH General or Construction (or equivalent) is essential.
  2. Experience within the Construction or Infrastructure sectors.
  3. Fit-out, Refurbishment, M&E or related sectors are desirable.
  4. Willingness to drive forward a positive health and safety culture with a pragmatic approach is essential.

Salary & Package

  1. £55,000 - £65,000
