Due to an increase in our activities, we are looking for new talent to join our Quality team in Silchester, UK.

POSITION SUMMARY

The candidate will ensure products are designed and manufactured based on regulations and customers’ requirements.

She/He will have direct relation and will be the point of contact for customers and suppliers during Product Lifecycle Management project phases.

She/He will be responsible for manufacturing and suppliers’ quality during projects phases (Delivery, Quality, Regulations and Customers satisfaction).

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main scope of duties is from Gate 5 to 10 (project development phase):

  • Support (with QA Development) lessons learned process to feedback from other projects and In-Service.
  • Work package leader to the various steps of the project,
  • Active member of IPT (Integrated Project Teams) supporting several projects at the same time,
  • Ensure respect of the program stage gate process,
  • Work as a close partner with NPI, Chief Engineer, PM and purchasing to establish (and cascade) quality requirements to external suppliers,
  • Prepare and Perform Customer First Article Inspection Report (FAIR according to EN9102) for handover with Quality Production and customer quality teams,
  • Responsible for Suppliers’ qualification, audits, and support FAI for EIS (Entry In-Service) readiness,
  • Direct contact with customers and suppliers when impacted by quality issues,
  • Develop and maintain system to measure and drive performance,
  • Drive, Improve and Monitor Mercury Systems International (MSI) program gates,
  • Carry out suppliers’ audits and manage action plan,
  • Use, train and improve preventative tools such as Lean and 6-Sigma toolbox, FMEA’s, etc.
  • Ensure APQP process is applied in the Project phase when applicable,
  • Lead New Process qualification during Project phase,
  • Monitor operations adherence to MSI processes, procedures and report any deviations or findings with proposed corrective actions,
  • Participate and support customers or authorities’ audits,
  • Perform internal and external system and product audits as required (including recording audit data, preparing audit reports, etc.),
  • Help preparing and managing EN/AS9100 recertification and surveillance audits for MSI.

KPI responsibility:

  • FPY (First Pass Yield) during project phases,
  • Customer claims (escape, concessions/waivers, etc...),
  • Customer audit score (project stage),
  • OQD Suppliers,
  • Quality project adherence to project reviews and gate process.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • MS degree in Engineering / Quality, strong technical background (Mechanical and Electronics is a plus),
  • Quality auditor training,
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Aviation, Space and Defense (ASD) industry, medical or automotive,
  • English spoken and written
  • Aerospace & Defense QMS Lead Auditor,
  • LEAN, APQP, 6Sigma methodologies knowledge.
