Quantity Surveyor - Glasgow
£55 - 60k + Bonus + Fuel Card
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team in Lanarkshire. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in our construction projects, managing costs and ensuring that projects are completed within budget. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with a talented team of professionals.
This role is part of one of the fastest growing Building & Maintenance services in Scotland, allowing the successful candidate to enjoy security in their role and the opportunity to progress their career.
The ideal candidate for this role is one who wants to feel part of a team, enjoys flexibility and not being 'expected' to work extra hours, wants to be fairly compensated for their work and enjoys being part of a company where every staff member up to the managing director is involved and plays their part in the projects.
As part of this role, you'll be:
- Manage project costs from inception to completion
- Conduct cost analysis and prepare budgets
- Prepare tender and contract documents
- Evaluate and negotiate contractor and supplier bids
- Track and monitor project expenses
- Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
Ideally, you'll have:
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience
- Strong knowledge of mainstream construction processes and practices
- Experience with costing and first principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
