Job Description

We Build Recruitment are on the lookout for 2 Quantity Surveyors based in London or the surrounding areas.

Preferably you'd come from a fitout background as the bulk of the projects are fitouts and refurbishments of commercial properties including hospitality venues, offices and high end private residential properties.

The salary is negotiable and dependant on experience. For reference, someone with multiple years of experience would be looking around at £60,000+ but for someone more junior to it would obviously be expecting lower.

Job Role:

* Manage projects through the entire project lifecycle.

* Prepare estimates, cost plans and tender documentation using various forms of measurement and contracts.

* Be comfortable measuring schedules of works and bills of quantities/activity schedule production.

* Manage and prepare both tender and contract documentation.

* Support and input into procurement and tendering processes and evaluation/award of contracts.

* Attend client and progress meetings and provide input and support to the project.

* Price and prepare financial reports and cashflow forecasts throughout the duration of contracts and provide general post contract cost management and control.

* Provide input into the financial aspects of change management.

* Report to senior management on the financials and each of the projects

* Carry out re-measurement of quantities with contractors if necessary and prepare and agree final accounts and claims. Prepare final accounts for clients that are suitable for audit.

Skills and Qualifications:

* The office is in Guildford, however most of their projects are within London so anywhere in a commutable distance to London would be acceptable

* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor. You must be competent to be able to work on your own/without supervision but it's not expected that you're a finished article either

* Although a fitout background is necessary, the projects you've worked on aren't as important as they cover a range of areas

* Strong time management skills to ensure you meet agreed deadlines
