What you'll do:
Work to create and execute radio technologies into customer solutions
Survey Reports and Radio Design
Use the latest radio frequency (RF) design tools
Onsite Systems Support
Project Documentation
Learn the customer requirements and the expectations of designs
Maintain and input data accurately into customer project files
Liaise with senior system engineers to resolve design queries
Interpret customer requirements, requests and translate to a working solution
Identify anomalies and work with Senior Engineers to solve them
Create real-life solutions in the radio labs at Wellingborough
Attend reviews to verify solution details are accurate
Help produce design drawings and documentation
Help produce a Bill of Materials associated with designs
Provide technical support
Help produce initial equipment configurations to enable staging and testing activities
Collate and produce as-built documentation and associated test results
Report progress at regular intervals to the Lead/Senior Engineer
Who you are & what to prepare for:
We don't require individuals with experience as we will provide full training in all aspects of the role from how to use tools/equipment to working at heights to ensuring safe working practises. We are looking for candidates with the right attitude, commitment, and desire to learn.
During the programme these are some of the areas you will be focussing on:
Networks
IP Networking
WAN/LAN
You will get a vehicle, mobile phone, laptop, personal protective equipment as part of the role
Although supported throughout the programme by us at Telent you will need to take ownership of your tasks and personal development
Client and customer service is critical to the services we provide customers.
You will need to have strong planning and organisation skills
Communication is vital; you will need to be an effective communicator both in writing and verbally
Programme requirements:
Minimum of 5 GCSE's Grade 4 or higher (or equivalent qualification). This must include Maths, English and a Science or IT based subject.
Ideally 1 A-levels or equivalent qualifications minimum Grade C in a Computer Science or Electrical subject (desirable)
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Full UK Driving licence
Must be over the age of 18 by September 2023.
Able to pass full Security Clearance vetting for access to secure information, site access and confidential permissions.
Able to adhere to our Drugs & Alcohol policy and pass a pre-employment Drugs & Alcohol assessment.
Programme Specifics:
This apprenticeship is typically 24 months in duration
Starting salary of £16,000 which will increase throughout the duration of the programme
The qualification you gain will be a Level 3 Radio Network Technician
Our chosen training provider TC Partnership will support you in obtaining your qualification
You will predominantly work in our Wellingborough office but will include frequent visits to other sites as required
On completion of your apprenticeship, we hope to offer you a full-time position with Telent where you can continue to pursue your career.
