Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated Technician to join our R&D team.


Role Responsibilities:

  • To carry out proof testing and legality checking of car components to specified standards
  • To carry out development work on car components to specified standards
  • To take responsibility for the build and execution of R&D tests including sensor setup, data logging and the post processing of data
  • To digitally record and document all critical information and data from tests performed in accordance with the test request and specifications then subsequently integrate this information into company systems and formats for reporting and future recall
  • To competently and safely operate all test benches and equipment that are pertinent to your role and any associated software tasks that may be implemented.
  • Support requests and test demand as directed by the R&D Test Manager, liaising with engineers from across the company and keeping key stakeholders informed of progress at each stage
  • Contribute to the good housekeeping and continuous improvement of the R&D workshop
  • To manage own workload effectively, meeting tight deadlines where required and support general departmental workload as required
  • To chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings as required
  • To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job role


Essential Skills & Knowledge Required :

  • Possess an excellent working knowledge of assembly techniques for both small and large scale test assemblies
  • Possess a thorough understanding of a range of car components, their purpose and the critical performance and reliability aspects of their behaviour
  • Continue to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of structural proof testing, durability and fatigue testing and systems sign off and their importance for good reliability of our car at the race track
  • Possess an excellent standard of IT literacy in company PLM systems, Microsoft Excel and Word, ATLAS and System Monitor and other data logging packages
  • Use initiative and analytical thinking along with a methodical and structured approach to your work
  • To be self-motivated and actively motivate peers to thrive in a challenging environment
  • Educated to a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant/transferable field
  • Demonstrate a positive and “can do” attitude
  • Adopt a consistent and positive approach in times of pressure and high workload to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales
  • Build effective relationships within own department and with other key contacts across the Team
  • To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues whilst demonstrating an awareness of peers’ workloads and priorities
  • Actively seek to build a thorough understanding of areas of the business that affect the R&D Department
  • Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills
  • Experience in a relevant field within in a Formula One environment / high level Motorsport environment


Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in a relevant role either in motorsport or another high performance industry. However, applications for a junior position will be considered for graduates who can demonstrate academic excellence and a high level of extra-curricular commitment .We are of the opinion that experience can be gained but enthusiasm and attitude are of greatest importance.
