Real Estate Finance, Associate, Lawyer, SolicitorThe firmThis is a top 20 international law firm advising on complex disputes and transactions through local knowledge and an integrated international network. Their global practice is integrated across their offices in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and North America delivering consistently high levels of service across borders and locally through a deep understanding of local business customs and culture.The DepartmentReal Estate Finance is integrated with their core team dealing with real estate matters in London which consists of 5 core partners (including real estate finance and construction) and 10 assistants (other partners and departments in London have real estate expertise in specific disciplines, including planning, tax, environment and property related disputes, supporting the real estate practice and the firm as a whole is a leading finance led firm). Their clients are lenders, institutional funds, overseas funds, developers, investors and ultra-high net worth individuals. They have a strong hospitality practice and act for a number of leading owners and operators of hotels. Much of their recent work involves financing office, operational real estate (such as student accommodation, care homes and hotels), build to rent and PRS and high value residential. They advise on all aspects of real estate financing including:
- syndicated and bilateral debt;
- Islamic financing;
- advising on distressed real estate finance transactions, restructurings and special situations;
- tax planning and structuring;
- interest rate swaps and other hedging arrangements.
The Ideal Candidate
- qualified as a solicitor in England & Wales (or another common-law jurisdiction) with around 2 years of relevant and high quality post-qualification experience;
- have relevant and significant experience of acting on major, multi-party transactions, domestically or internationally or both.
- Experience of financing operational real estate, Islamic financing and restructurings would be helpful but not essential.
