Purpose of Role

Responsible for the strategic leadership across five FM Business Units covering the UK. Full P&L responsibility and accountability for the development and deployment of the strategy that will ensure the financial performance, exemplary safety record and operations in line with VINCI values.

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager Director, the summary responsibilities of the Region Director are:
• Leading the strategic delivery across five FM Business Unit Units in the UK covering : Education, Government West, Government East, Retail and Local Authority & Transport.
• Responsible for initiating, leading and owning the three-year global strategy for the FM region.
• Motivating and developing the capability of the individual Business Unit leadership teams in order to drive performance in their areas of operations.
• Internal and external stakeholder management and high-level client engagement.
• Drive exemplary health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing outcomes across the Region.
• Contributing to the VINCI Facilities Board and Mission Control meetings

Responsibilities

The role requires a wide range of skills, knowledge and expertise in order to successfully manage the Region. The tasks and responsibilities are summarised below:-
Business Unit Structure:

• The VINCI Construction Business Unit model is founded on the strength of the Business Unit. As the Region Director, the primary responsibility is to establish a strong Business Unit structure, with the right operational, contractual, and commercial leadership at Business Unit and Operational Level capable of managing the operational and contractual challenges that are prevalent in each sector.
• Lead and motivate the Business Unit Leads and the Region’s teams to deliver the Region Plan, underpinned by a compliant service to our customers.
• Deliver on the Business Unit plan objectives: Safety, Environment, Profit, Cash, Employee Engagement, Customer Advocacy, Supply Chain and Community Involvement.

Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing
• With the VINCI Facilities Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing establish and execute the Region’s strategy to deliver excellent H,S,E & W performance on a sustainable basis.
• Ensure that all incidents and accidents are investigated and the learning from these shared and embedded throughout the Region’s operations.
• With the Head of Business Unit Responsibility establish and execute the Region’s strategy to deliver against the VINCI Environmental Ambition.

Contractual & Commercial
• The Region Director is responsible for understanding the Contractual Requirements across our the Business Unit Portfolios and ensuring these are understood and delivered by the BUSINESS UNIT Leads and their Project Teams.
• The Regional Facilities Director establishes and leads the Contractual approach across the region, to ensure contractual compliance.
• Working with Legal and Business Unit commercial teams, ensure that the VINCI Facilities position is protected at all times, enacting defensive strategies where this is appropriate.

Delivery
• Working with the Business Unit Leads and their Project Teams ensure that all the Region’s Projects are compliant with the contract requirements.
• Working with the Business Unit Leads , ensure that we employ and deploy the correct technical skills to effectively manage the contract requirements on each of our Projects.
• With the VINCI Facilities Performance Director establish the quality inspection and audit regime and ensure that all learning arising from these interventions are shared and acted upon.
• Working with the Digital and Lean Management support teams, strive to identify and deploy operational improvements that deliver increasing efficiency into our operations.

Financial
• Overall responsibility for the financial performance of the Region, working with the VINCI Facilities Commercial Director, Region Commercial Director and Regional Financial Controllers.
• Ensure that the VINCI Construction UK Commercial & Finance rules are fully complied with.

Customer
• Working with the Business Unit Leads, develop and maintain strong customer relationships with key customers and influential stakeholders at all Levels, that ensure we are aware of their future plans.
• Working with the Business Unit Leads to ensure retention of key customers
• Ensure that all the Region Customers are surveyed periodically to understand the views of our customers, using their feedback to continuously improve the performance of our Health Region delivery and the overall Health Region Strategy
• Proactively seek out and employ insights relating to the market to identify growth opportunities within the customer base.

Team
• With the Business Unit Lead, lead and motivate the Region’s team to deliver high levels of Employee Experience.
• With the Business Unit Lead and the HR Team develop and execute the Team strategy to deliver high levels of retention and an effective recruitment process to meet current and future Region requirements.
• With the Business Unit Lead and the Academy Manager, plan and deliver the training and development strategy to ensure the Region’s team has the skills today and in the future to deliver the Business Units plan.
• With the Business Unit Leads and Head of Graduates and Apprentices, plan and deliver the Early Careers strategy to ensure the Health Region talent pipeline is developed.

Supply Chain
• With the Business Unit Lead, and the commercial and procurement teams develop and deploy an effective supply chain strategy that delivers our and our customers’ needs today and meets their future requirements.
• Support the drive to reduce our Scope 3 emissions, through the sustainable procurement initiatives undertaken across the Business Units.
• With the Business Unit Lead, actively consider where supply chain scope could be delivered by in house teams, to provide enhance the capability of the Health Region self-delivery.

Community
• With the Head of Business Unit Responsibility establish and execute the Health Region strategy to deliver increasing levels of Social Value within the communities in which we work.

Growth
• Working with the Business Unit leads and Customer Director establish market knowledge around chosen sectors
• Govern WTW process with Customer Director incl senior settlement sign off.
• Ensure appropriate pipeline is in place to deliver our profitable and sustainable growth strategy
• Work with Sales & Marketing Director to co-ordinate Growth and market strategies across the VF group

Essential Qualifications/Skills

Proven leadership experience in a similar role within the facilities management or related industry.
Strong understanding of contractual and commercial aspects.
Demonstrated success in driving health, safety, and environmental performance.
Excellent stakeholder management and client engagement skills.
Financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
Relevant educational background and professional certifications.
