POSITION TITLE: Regional Finance Manager Foodservice – SW Region

LOCATION: Home based with regular weekly travel

REPORTS TO: Financial Controller Foodservice

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Regional Finance Manager will provide business partnering, commercial analysis and decision support to the management teams at branches within core regions of the Dole UK Foodservice business. Locations in scope are Bristol, Cardiff, Bodmin and Devon. Travel to all locations is a key part of the role with Bristol and Cardiff requiring weekly on-site partnering, Bodmin and Devon monthly.

The Regional FM will work closely with the Branch Managers and divisional Senior Leadership Team to maximise business performance and identify risks and opportunities, supported by a centralised management accounts team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactive Finance Business Partner providing support, challenge, and insight to the Branch Managers of each site within your remit
  • To deliver timely, accurate & relevant financial information, analysis and commentary to key stakeholders including:
  • Weekly and monthly P&L reporting
  • Monthly and quarterly forecasts
  • Annual budgets
  • Variance analysis
  • KPI’s
  • Benchmarking
  • Ad-hoc analysis to drive business performance
  • Provide commercial support to the Branch Managers focussing on understanding and explaining business performance variances and identifying risks and opportunities to enable delivery of their targets
  • Develop, rigorously challenge, and question the budget/forecast assumptions and KPIs on an on-going basis, and report this to the Branch Managers and Divisional Team
  • Provide insight into customer and sales team performance
  • Production of the internal Monthly Reporting pack and participation in the Monthly Review Meeting
  • Overall responsibility to produce the monthly Management Accounts and all central reporting working in collaboration with the central finance team
  • Production and evaluation of business cases including capital expenditure proposals
  • Ensure that strong financial controls are in place across all branches
  • Ensure that all company policies and statutory requirements are adhered to
  • Support the Financial Controller as required through analysis and project activity

  • Experienced in building relationships with non-finance and cross-functional personnel across all levels within the business
  • Flexible team player who can help change behaviour both by compelling nature of analysis and by working closely with colleagues to drive improvements
  • Demonstrates a sense of personal ownership, is results driven and has a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Enthusiasm and tenacity to strive for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrable ability to adapt quickly and deliver commercial results in changing environments
  • Ability to understand trends and results. High level of competency in financial analysis and modelling
  • The ability to prioritise and effectively manage time

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with a minimum of 2 years post qualified experience gained within industry
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, commercially driven environment
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience of working in a product-led industry
  • Leading process improvements and managing change

PREFERRED

  • Experience gained within the FMCG or Logistics Industries
  • Multi-site experience
  • System development & implementation skills

OTHER

Full clean driving licence required
