SDL are looking for a top quality, experienced surveyor with excellent people and management skills to join our Regional Management Team to support our growing Surveyor population in the North West.

Surveying represents a network of Surveyors and Valuers, across England and Wales, through a combination of our employed surveyors and independent firms. Undertaking c.250,000 to 300,000 valuations/surveys per year we command a commercial advantage through iPad technology and desktop surveys. Your life as a Regional Surveyor

You will lead and inspire your team of surveyors to achieve or exceed personal and regional targets around customer satisfaction and fees. You should have a passion for mentoring and developing your team members, particularly any less experienced Surveyors who you will support to achieve full Chartered status. With a remote workforce your biggest challenge will be maintaining regular contact; hosting online briefings, meeting face to face where possible to make sure your team feel valued and part of the SDL family. You will act as an ambassador for the SDL brand and promote our services. You will work closely with the Operations and Audit teams to ensure the quality of service to our lenders is maintained at the highest standard. You will still have the opportunity to undertake some surveys and valuations to keep your surveying skills sharp and up to date!

What you'll do

Oversee the day to day management of the field surveyors in your region to ensure we are providing an excellent level of service at all times Coach and mentor your team to help them develop their skills and capability to be the best that they can be Provide meaningful MI to senior management Work collaboratively with the Audit and Operations teams to maintain service and quality requirements to Company standards Support recruitment of high caliber surveyors nationwide Proactively contribute to the implementation of new initiatives and technology Complete some surveys, mortgage and desktop valuations

Who we are looking for.

We want to find a strong leader with extensive experience in all aspects of property Surveying, who likes to work in a fast-paced world where they can take responsibility and get things done and who has:

Extensive knowledge and technical expertise in all aspects of Residential Surveying Great People skills with Customers and Colleagues at all levels Either a track record of leading an effective team OR qualities to achieve this RICS membership (either MRICS/FRICS/Associate) and VRS registered. Experience of managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders Experience of mentoring and training of surveyors Experience of providing terrific customer service in a client-facing role Exceptional timekeeping - never late and always on top of deadlines A pragmatic approach to problem solving Eligibility to work in the UK and everything it takes to successfully complete pre-employment screening

And, ideally, but not vitally:

Experience using iPads for valuations and surveys Excellent presentation skills
