About the Opportunity

The Jacobs CMS Real Estate Operations (REO) Team is expanding via the adoption of a new role – Regional  Real Estate & Facilities Business Manager.  The role will require coordination of the regional REO strategy, planning, and evaluation initiatives as well as oversight of the CMS international real estate portfolio, for all real estate and facilities activity.

Reporting directly into the Group Director for Business Operations with additional alignment to the REO corporate team, this position will play a critical role in achieving the businesses Enterprise goals while also satisfying regional business strategy and real estate solutions in the respective geographies. Through on-going engagement with key business leaders and stakeholders, the Regional Real Estate & Facilities Business Manager is responsible for understanding key business strategies, drivers, and requirements and then applying appropriate actions and best practices across the region’s portfolio. 

This role is UK-based.  Work location may be in office, hybrid, or remote, however, travel to regional and international sites, including the head office location, will be required as the role develops. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading, integrating, and translating Jacobs’ principles and strategic direction into the management of real estate and facility operations
  • Driving development of real estate business cases to facilitate regional decision-making and meet corporate requirements for capital and expense/budgetary approvals, following Real Estate standard practices
  • Teaming with the business leaders, peers, and global REO Office to provide strategy development, real estate portfolio analysis and management, realization of cost savings initiatives for the Enterprise, and regular assessment of real estate performance
  • Utilising and managing of external brokers to negotiate and deliver business-driven end-to-end real estate solutions
  • Driving responsible financial stewardship of the regional occupancy and capital budgets  
  • Ensuring Enterprise guidelines, policies and procedures are followed, via partnership with internal teams, including Health, Safety & Environment,
  • Security, Sustainability, IT, Procurement, HR, Risk Management, Finance, Legal
  • Partnering with Finance to support development, evaluation, and continual refinement of key metrics and financial reporting for regional business leadership and other Enterprise departments as needed  
  • Implementing global financial policies and procedures across the region to ensure accurate, compliant, timely, and consistent reporting from within the individual businesses
  • Overseeing Facility Leads at all international facilities
  • Implementing a regional Facility Management strategic plan, including full service facility management and maintenance which includes, but is not limited to, building maintenance, landscape services, coordination of janitorial services, equipment lease management, landlord and property management coordination, front desk services, security support and disaster preparedness
  • Providing direct support and mentoring to Facility Leads during space planning, relocation, renovations, facility setup and close out activities
  • Support/directly oversee Facility Leads during staff and equipment placement, workspace configuration, financial allocation data collection process, and distribution and inventory of furniture, fixtures and equipment
  • Ensuring Facility Leads are applying best practices for hiring, training, managing and mentoring staff
  • Other tasks as assigned related to international real estate and facilities

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Experience of working in a Real Estate & Facilities Management Role at a strategic level managing a real estate lease portfolio
  • Management or leadership experience in a service lead environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with high proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be confident in own abilities and able to deliver in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills and able to strike up effective working relationships at all levels
  • Willingness to commit to national and limited international travel
