Job Title: Registered Nurse - Acute Palliative Care
Trust Location: Backford, Chester
Pay Rates: Day £16.90, Night & Sat £22.30 and Sun/BH £27.40
Shift Patterns: Earlies, Lates, Long days, Weekends and Bank Holidays
As a Registered Nurse in acute palliative care, you will build rapport with a patient who is coming to the end of their life, ensuring that their final moments of care are delivered with dignity and compassion.
Advocacy will be an important part of your role in developing the nurse-patient relationship, helping to build trust and thereby improving the quality of care. In embedding our Philosophy of Care, you will focus on comfort and quality of life, putting the patient and their family first.
You will be delivering the highest standard of personalised care in our 12-bedded Hospice. The Hospice provides individualised care based on each person's unique needs to provide a restful and relaxed environment.
The hospice specialises in
Control of symptoms, for example pain or nausea/sickness
Rehabilitation following treatment
Care in the last days of life

What you’ll be responsible for:
Coordinating individual treatment plans to ensure maximum comfort for our patients whilst receiving end of life treatment
The emotional and psychological well being of our patients and their families
Recognising, responding to, and managing emergency situations
Plan, deliver and evaluate standards of evidence-based nursing care
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll need to have the following qualifications/experience:
A minimum of 12 months paid Hospital experience within Palliative/End-of-Life care This could be ITU or A Medical Unit specialising in Elderly care or Community Based End-of-Life Nursing service within the last 3 years
Understanding the principles of Palliative care
Comply with NMC Professional Registration and keep up to date with current nursing practices
Ensure accurate records are kept in accordance with trust policy and NMC guidelines.
Demonstrate interest in all aspects of palliative care and long-term conditions
