The Role
Acorn Vets have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Registered Veterinary Nurse to join us! The successful candidate will be working in fully equipped clinics and covering all areas from theatre, anaesthesia, nurse clinics and diagnostics. This allows for a wide variety of cases and a lot of hands-on nursing. This is a part-time position working 8-hour shifts across 2 days per week, with 1:4 Saturday mornings, no out-of-hours.
The salary for this role is up to £31,000 per annum depending on experience.
Fix or flex – work life balance that works for you
We offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle. Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance the school holidays, fix to navigate the school runs or just looking to strike that balance between home and work life. We can offer flexibility that actually works for you.
About Us
Acorn is a 2-site practice. The main site on Portland Road has 2-3 vets working with support from 3-4 vet nurses per day. Our Hangleton road branch supports a smaller but tight-knit community, and our vets work in sole charge with 2 nurses supporting them. Equipment includes an in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound machine, digital dental x-ray, and operating theatre. We consider staff well-being a priority as well as working with our staff to create a good work-life balance which enables us to provide a great and friendly service to our clients, many of whom have been with the practice for several decades. We are lucky enough to be near local attractions, just a 5-minute walk from a beautiful seafront, and a 10-minute drive to the South Downs. Hove is situated within Brighton and is a really fun place to live and work and has great transport links to London.
About the Team and Culture
We have 6 Vets with us, alongside 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses. We have ample support from 4 support team members and in the team, we have a Certificate holder in feline medicine. We help our local Street Veterinary team, but it is one of our ambitions to do more in our community. We have an exceptionally supportive team in place with a true family-like ethos, and should you pick Acorn as your next place to work, your well-being is one of our top priorities.
Applicant Requirements
We hope to find a nurse who is as passionate about animal and client care as well as wanting to be part of a team as we all work closely together and help each other out. Must be registered with the RCVS and it is essential that you have excellent communication skills and an excellent bedside manner. We hope you have some experience in general nursing and a positive can-do attitude.
