If you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.
Find flexibility in a role with no out-of-hours or weekends
We are looking for a competent and experienced RVN to be our lead nurse at our branch surgery in Chertsey. We are keen to evolve our nurse clinics and offer more services locally to our patients and clients. Duties would include patient care, nurse consults and theatre. We actively encourage CPD and further development and love our nurses to be involved and proactive with our cases. We do pride ourselves on providing the best patient, client and staff care we can.
Ideally, we are looking for a part time RVN to join our friendly team for 24 hours each week. This would potentially be split with three days 10am-4pm and a Tuesday 9am-3pm (you will be paid half an hour for lunch) however we are flexible and open to a discussion. There would be no out of hours work, no weekends, no reception shifts and no expectation to work at our larger Woking hospital. However, our two part time Head Nurses would be available for support if required.
Salary is up to £30,000 (Pro-rata) depending on experience. We also have accommodation available to rent separately next door to the surgery if needed.
About Us
We are situated in Surrey and have great transport links to London and the local airports. We are a two-branch practice, with our main hospital situated in Woking, approximately 20 minutes from Chertsey. The practice at Chertsey is a one consult room surgery with kennels and prep room and separate theatre. Facilities include in house Idexx lab machines, digital x rays, ultrasound and dental machine.
About the Team and Culture
The team at Chertsey is small but friendly! It comprises of one receptionist a nurse and a vet at any one time. There are a total of 10 vets who work for Kingswood but we have a regular vet at Chertsey 3-4 days each week, so client continuity is not affected. We have a team of 7 RVNs and 4 SVNs/ANA who currently cover shifts at Chertsey, but we would like to improve our continuity of care with our nursing staff too, hence the position advertised. Woking has a surgery certificate holder, visiting orthopaedic specialist and visiting cardiologist to which we can send our more complex cases.
We work closely with several local charities and support them with quiz nights and (if you are feeling energetic) their sponsored army assault course.
Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a Register Veterinary nurse with experience in anaesthetics and recoveries, has an eagerness to run and manage nurse clinics. Good communication skills are essential.
