We are seeking a talented individual to join a new Center of Excellence as an R&D Scientist.
In this role, you will play a pivotal role in:
- Leading bioprocess development for the production of recombinant proteins using E. coli and yeast systems.
- Supporting the implementation of New Product Development (NPD) roadmap through innovative bioprocess strategies.
- Providing hands-on technical leadership for complex projects, including proof-of-concept demonstrations, Design of Experiments (DOE), and troubleshooting.
- Optimising, validating, and scaling-up fermentation processes from lab to large-scale production.
- Collaborating with strategic customers to understand and address their needs.
- Championing technology transfer by preparing documentation and facilitating outsourcing activities.
- Identifying and implementing new technologies and equipment to propel R&D programs forward.
- Leading a small team of scientists and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Maintaining meticulous records and conducting/overseeing process analyses.
- Authoring key documents like dossiers, SOPs, and technical reports.
- Staying abreast of current advancements in the field of protein expression and purification.
Qualifications:
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in bioprocess development and downstream recovery of recombinant proteins from E. coli and/or yeast.
- Experience in optimising, validating, and scaling-up fermentation processes.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience presenting complex scientific data to diverse audiences.
- Strong ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality management systems
