MBDA Missile Systems - Deliver for a more secure tomorrow
The Opportunity
Do you want to be at the forefront of leading MBDA's future Electronic Engineering (EE) UK Research and Development (R&D)? Do you have the passion to be at the heart of the innovations, breaking new grounds in Electronic technology advancement and actively preparing now for missiles and systems programmes of tomorrow?
It is vital to the EE's Future Business team, to understand how we evolve electronic technology in the future, how it will feed into new products and what opportunities technological advances might offer - both to the UK's Portfolio and the company's strategy. The development of modules and technology roadmaps and their mapping to EE and MBDA product lines, requires someone that understands electronic technology at every level; someone who can share ideas, build relationships and influence stakeholders across the business.
What we're looking for
This exciting new role has been created to manage the Research and Development activities within the EE's Future Business team, providing technology leadership and 'value creation' for EE. This is achieved by delivery management and future planning of both internal and external research activities.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience and understanding of electronics design. This role requires someone that can think beyond the 'here and now' and understand how our technology, capability and products can evolve in the future to meet the company and customer's needs. A proven ability to build and lead a team (local and virtual) to deliver a strategy is necessary, coupled with pro-activeness, motivation and a tenacity to resolve issues when under pressure.
The role will require you to manage research programmes and funding business cases, build relationships both internally and externally. Due to the nature of the role, being DV cleared, or being prepared to undertake DV clearance is essential.
What's in it for you?
This role will give you the opportunity to work on some of the most advanced electronic research in MBDA. You will use and develop your knowledge across multiple technology domains, becoming the technical authority for EE's Future Business team.
You will lead the delivery of EE's core internal research strategy, work with peers throughout the company (UK and internationally) and participate in senior engineering forums. Your involvement in the long term vision and strategy of the electronic domain means that you will influence designs and steer the company's future portfolio of products.
You will become a leading expert in your field and build a network of contacts and peers across MBDA, with the opportunity to travel as necessary.
Join a great team!
You will be joining as a key member of EE's Future Business team and, as such, be part of shaping the role and be an integral part of the team's future. The team is focused on improving every aspect of EE's response to the research needs of the business and you'll have support to learn and contribute at every level.
The team is motivated and friendly, with a core value of Team Spirit to ensure people feel safe in sharing their ideas, feedback is constructive and success is collective.
You will work closely with the Future Business Head, as well as EE designers, technical experts and peers across MBDA.
