Job Description

R&D Technologist Ashby de la Zouch (with UK and international travel) As our R&D Technologist, you'll play a key role within the Intersnack R&D team, working in partnership with several other Intersnack Group functions, Engineering, Manufacturing and Commercial teams to contribute to a significant portfolio transformation over the coming years. You'll work within the project team to help facilitate product and process development for some iconic consumer brands. You'll understand the importance of ensuring all statutory, legal; food safety and customer requirements throughout the process. You'll co-ordinate and support R&D projects within the specialities and popped R&D team. You'll be responsible for sample preparation handling and assessment, data collection and analysis. Trial planning, execution and management. There is also a requirement to travel domestically and internationally to both Intersnack and supplier locations. You'll need to be in regular contact with Technical, Operations, Finance, Sales and Marketing, Procurement, Retailers, Suppliers and 3rd parties. You'll need to be willing to learn new techniques and processes to broaden your skill set beyond those learnt in an academic setting. As well as being comfortable in a hands on setting, actively participating in tasks needed to keep the project moving forward. KP Snacks is proud to be part of the Intersnack Group. Key k nowledge, skills and experience: A good understanding of food ingredients / food processing and / or a good understanding of product development Planning, managing multiple development projects Problem solving – provide possible solutions Knowledge of flavours and food trends Creative and innovative in the generation of ideas Full driving license Food science / Physical Science / Engineering qualification or Bachelors’ degree or equivalent Previous experience within FMCG R&D would be a bonus Financial/ numerical aptitude Ideally some knowledge and experience of using Lean techniques #hp
