Lloyd’s is seeking to recruit Risk and Governance Review Senior Associate you will be required to support the Market Governance, Risk and Resilience Senior Manager and the Head of Markets Governance by undertaking expert analysis of a range of submissions and documents from the market to assess the level of maturity and the degree to which managing agents are undertaking good practice and are in line with the requirements of Principles Based Oversight .

Principal Accountabilities

The role holder will need to review and analyse a range of documents such as: ORSAs, Risk Management Audits, PRA Pre Periodic Supervisory Meeting Letters, Board Effectiveness Reviews and Board Packs in order to make recommendations  to the Senior Manager on whether additional oversight activity is required.

Operation of the Governance Indicators Framework including engaging with internal teams to ensure information is up to date, providing reports to the Senior Manager on any changes and developments which may need to involve Account Managers or Oversight Teams.

Preparing reporting on the Governance Indicators Framework to internal governance meetings.

Providing support to the Senior Appointments process to analyse proposed appointments and participate in interviews.

Manage the change of control review and approval process including reviewing applications and providing summaries of transactions to senior stakeholders.

Providing support to the Senior Manager in additional oversight meetings with managing agents to discuss Risk Management and Governance

Skills Knowledge and Experience

Relevant governance and risk management experience

Significant experience managing activities, priorities and people up to a senior level.

Experience of relationship and stakeholder management experience at a senior management level.

Experience advising on risk management, performance and regulation.

Exposure to presenting to and/or communicating with regulators

The commercial drivers of profit and loss for insurance/reinsurance businesses

The factors that materially affect risk and may ultimately cause the failure of an insurance/reinsurance businesses

Regulatory expectations in regard to governance and risk management

The factors that drive strong governance, an effective Board, developing and executing a successful strategy and pitfalls to avoid

Knowledge of business process and systems change tools and best practice principles

Lead constructive conversations with senior stakeholders at Managing Agents, giving difficult messages when required

Build and maintain professional and productive relationships internally and externally with key decision-makers, ensuring decisions are made and communicated in a timely, transparent and well-articulated manner.

Influence and negotiate using an appropriate style for the situation, collaborate effectively and build consensus

Make strategic, commercial and customer focused decisions

Demonstrate empathy and gather insights that help to drive the Corporation’s understanding of and response to issues and opportunities.

Provide pragmatic, risk-based solutions, taking the needs of a variety of stakeholders into account

Apply understanding of Managing Agent strategic business drivers and internal working structure of Lloyd’s to deliver a good result for both parties.

Effectively operate within a matrix structure drawing together the services and activities of multiple functions
