Join us as a Risk & Controls Manager

  • We’re looking for someone to join us as a Risk & Controls Manager and take responsibility for making sure day-to-day functional tasks are being delivered with quality and within timelines
  • You’ll provide expert support, advice, management information and escalation to leaders and the business on risk management

What you'll do

In this role, you’ll be accountable for the management and supervision across the department, including the ownership and development of the risk and control mechanisms for the business, independently overseeing and challenging the effective management of risks and controls within agreed risk appetites.

Key elements of the role are to include:

  • Owning the delivery of high quality MR reports and controls outputs
  • Ensuring adherence to MR reporting standards
  • Coordinating with RACA, SOX controls, audit and other relevant teams
  • Taking accountability for the workload and high quality outputs
  • Raising and driving issues related to deadlines, data quality and strategic system limitations efficiently and independently

The skills you'll need

To be successful in this role, you’ll preferably come from a similar background of credit risk Operations in an investment bank. You’ll need excellent communication skills, for liaising with the concerned stakeholders, as well as a strong understanding of the global markets and banking operations, market dynamics, products and the associated risks.

On top of this, you’ll bring:

  • Knowledge of key functions performed by other support areas
  • An understanding and track record of trading and banking books product set, including equities, derivatives, treasury, fixed income and funds
  • Highly developed creative skills to resolve complex problems and identify alternatives where established procedures may not exist
  • The ability to undertake small data projects and get involved in regular UAT and sign off processes
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel
