Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join us at Compare the Market (CTM) as an experienced Senior Manager in Risk. Your role will be pivotal in leading the Risk Team to ensure CTM has a well embedded risk and control framework in place as a trusted business partner to the business. You’ll provide clear direction and technical oversight to the Risk Team and provide insight and challenge the CTM leadership team. Supporting the Associate Director in providing proactive second Line of Defence (2LOD) risk opinion and challenge across the CTM business operations, change portfolio and strategic outlook.

The ideal candidate will be highly experienced in areas of non-financial risk. This is an opportunity to join the Risk and Compliance function who are a high performing and valued team in a successful business where you can grow your experience and career. 
Responsibilities will include; 
• Leading the Risk team in providing expert and tailored risk advice
• External environment scans, review latest development on issues that could create a risk for CTM or for the industry
• Develop and implement methods, techniques, processes and reporting to ensure that CTM has a well embedded risk and control framework in place 
• Constructive challenge to risk management considerations in the direction, decision making and execution of the business plan and strategy
• Act as a highly effective business partner, providing Senior Management level challenge and support – cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders inside and outside of CTM
• Promoting a strong Risk & Compliance culture
• Deputise for the Associate Director Risk at meetings and Committee
• Maintaining employee engagement through coaching and support 
• 2LOD Opinion / Observations Reporting: needs to include but not limited to, actionable insights of external environment which could impact CTM, Risk Assessment reports, change risk profile view, risks outside of tolerance, incidents which are impacting risk
• Perform quarterly risk Board report to Executive Risk Committee (ERC) and Board Risk Committee (BRC)

What will it take?
• Experience of 2LOD Risk Management within financial services – predominant focus on non-financial risk 
• Expertise in Risk Management Framework design and execution 
• Strong leadership, people management and stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiation and influence
• Understanding of complex business models/operation
• Strong written and verbal communication style and adaptability
• High intellectual curiosity with a logical, evidence-based approach to problem solving
